Kirk Watson, Principal and Founder

Kirk started Causeway Interactive after spending over a decade working in and around nonprofit organizations, seeing firsthand the potential of emerging technology to enhance the effectiveness of nonprofits, and to improve the working lives of those who make them tick.

Prior to starting Causeway, he spent 3 years working at Convio, whose software and services are similarly and exclusively for nonprofit organizations. During his time with Convio, he served as the first member of a novel web development team, which he oversaw and nurtured as it grew quickly from 1 to 23 members. Kirk left Convio near the end of 2007 as the Manager of Interactive Services.

Prior to Convio, Kirk worked with CNET Networks in Beijing, trying to fully utilize his Linguistics and Chinese degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. During his time in Beijing he worked with the local chapter of AIESEC, an international student-run work exchange program organization, helping to improve their recruitment and development strategies.

Kirk lives in Austin Texas and when he’s not working with clients, he’s playing ice hockey, riding motorcycles, studying Tibetan Buddhism, or traveling.
